Eric is the current Managing Partner at Elliott & Davis. His experience in structuring transactions, including joint ventures, partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations makes him a valuable resource to businesses in need of a “strategic lawyer.” Eric concentrates in providing corporate, business and tax counseling to privately-held companies, including representing clients in transactions involving equity and debt financing, formation and start-up, venture capital, sales, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, and information technology.

For years, Eric has helped nonprofits gain tax exempt status and deal with issues confronted by nonprofit boards. Eric is also a recognized expert on nonprofit fundraising and teaches grant writing classes for the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations and has served as a panel expert for the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Eric also has extensive experience in the aspects of real estate transactions, including financing, leasing, development, purchasing and selling real estate. His specialty in this area of the law is using corporate entities to reduce tax and risk exposure.

Todd Elliott

Todd Elliott

Biography
Attorney Elliott is a Pittsburgh area resident and a litigator by vocation.  Since 1997, he has practiced civil defense litigation in state court proceedings throughout Western Pennsylvania. On the plaintiff side, he has received numerous six figure awards for clients involved in motorcycle and other accidents.  Several of his cases have been deemed “complex” and were handled through a separate division of the courts.

Having worked for two prominent regional firms, Mr. Elliott’s areas of practice include breach of contract, construction law, mechanic’s liens, injury law (plaintiff and defense), professional negligence (plaintiff and defense), premises liability, unfair trade practices, trade disparagement, defamation, and multi-state litigation. Over the course of his career, Mr. Elliott has handled mediation of disputes, several trials by jury, and appeals to the Superior and Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  He has also served as an arbitrator in state court and a judge during mock trial competitions at the University of Pittsburgh.

On the defense side, attorney Elliott defended the outgoing CEO of Worldcom, Bernard Ebbers, who was sued in Pittsburgh for his alleged role in diminishing the value of Worldcom stock. In another case, Mr. Elliott represented Nationwide Insurance Company when a group of Nationwide insurance agents broke off from Nationwide and formed a company that competed directly with Nationwide. Nationwide then filed suit in Western Pennsylvania against the former agents who, in turn, counter sued, resulting in a prolonged legal dispute involving claims (and counterclaims) for trade disparagement (defamation) and theft of trade secrets. Mr. Elliott defended a Colorado corporation on a breach of contract suit filed in Allegheny County. In that case, the lower court dismissed the case based on a lack of jurisdiction and improper venue, and Mr. Elliott ultimately argued the case before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Likewise, in another breach of contract case, Mr. Elliott represented a Las Vegas company concerning litigation in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Elliott graduated magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo. He is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society, and Phi Beta Kappa (graduated top 10% of class). He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh. 

Attorney Elliott has significant experience throughout Western Pennsylvania, including not only Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) where he lives, but also the surrounding counties such as Beaver, Washington, and Butler Counties.

Upon graduating from law school, Attorney Elliott served as a judicial law clerk for The Honorable Peter O. Steege, Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Elliott also sat for and passed the West Virginia bar examination to expand his practice beyond Pennsylvania. Mr. Elliott is a member of the Allegheny County Bar AssociationPennsylvania Bar Association (Civil Litigation Section), and the American Bar Association.

In addition to civil litigation, Mr. Elliott also possesses experience representing clients in matters involving divorce, support, custody, PFA, and criminal defense.  He won a custody trial involving a dispute over the child’s religion.  He also won a child support trial which the opposing party appealed to the Superior court, and Mr. Elliott won again.  The case was profiled in The New York Times.  Mr. Elliott’s closing argument was quoted at length.

Biography
Before joining Elliott & Davis, Kristen began her legal career in public service. When Kristen made the transition from public interest law into private practice, she dedicated her practice to family law with a concentration in custody matters. In addition, Kristen has successfully handled all aspects of family law, including divorce, prenuptial agreements, wills and estates, simple and complex support matters, equitable distribution and protection from abuse (PFA) matters. Kristen was named a 2013 Super Lawyer, an honor given to only 5% of the attorneys in Pennsylvania. Kristen was also named a 2013 Best Lawyer.

Biography
As an attorney with Elliott & Davis, Kate dedicates her practice to family law. Kate handles all aspects of family law at the trial and appellate levels including prenuptial agreements, divorce, equitable distribution, child custody, simple and complex support matters, and protection from abuse (PFA) matters. Although located in Allegheny County, Kate’s practice extends to Armstrong County, Beaver County, Butler County, Fayette County, Lawrence County, Mercer County, Washington County and Westmoreland County.

Kate received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Allegheny College in 2002 and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law in May 2005.

While in law school, Kate was a law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence W. Kaplan. Kate was also a Certified Legal Intern for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Family Law Clinic, where she represented indigent clients in child custody, paternity and support actions. Kate also received training in mediation and acted as a mediator for custody disputes. In 2004, Kate was a finalist in the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Appellate Moot Court Competition. Rohit Dharwadkar

Biography

Rohit Dharwadkar concentrates his practice on all aspects of immigration law, ranging from family and employment-related matters to asylum, naturalization, and citizenship matters. With an emphasis on business immigration, including H-1B visas and labor certifications, Rohit has helped bring employers and needed global talent together to insure that businesses can compete successfully in the marketplace and acquire and retain the necessary talent for proper growth and expansion. He speaks Hindi, Marathi, and also has a working knowledge of French. Rohit has represented immigration clients from all over the world.

Prior to joining Elliott and Davis, Rohit practiced law in both Pennsylvania and California at firms that focused exclusively on immigration law matters. Born in India and raised in Southern California, Rohit moved to Pittsburgh with his wife, who is originally from the area, where they have settled and started a family. Rohit is active with the Indian and business communities in the Pittsburgh area, including being a member of the Network of Indian Professionals (NetIP) and Pittsburgh Technology Council. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Pittsburgh Subchapter.

Attorney Adam Anderson has practiced in Wills and Estates Law and Personal Injuries for a decade. Whether litigating personal injuries on both the defense or the plaintiff’s side, or helping individuals and families through asset protection strategies, you can rest assured Mr. Anderson has the knowledge and experience to handle your matter with the utmost skill and care.  He handles three main areas of law:

Estates and Trusts.  Attorney Adam Anderson considers many factors and uses a variety of tools to help protect assets and ensure plans are accomplished. These tools include Wills, a variety of Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, gifting schemes, various Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and Health Care Declarations. He has administered estates ranging in value up to seven figures and including antique artwork, textiles, collectibles, jewelry, which have include nationally renowned auction houses, real estate, mineral rights, guardianships and wrongful death claims. He has also represented Estate beneficiaries in litigation over several million dollar estates as well as heirs in litigation over family heirlooms.

Civil Litigation – Injuries.  In his personal injury litigation practice, Attorney Adam Anderson has been designated as both national and regional counsel for a variety of companies over the past decade. He has also been requested to assist and manage mass litigation and law suits in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, and Illinois.

Attorney Adam Anderson continued this passion at Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he was selected to serve as an editor on the Journal of Law and Health.

Mr. Anderson is active in the community serving on a local preschool board of directors, coaching in several youth sports leagues, volunteering his time for various social organizations, and also performing collection work for a local non-profit organization. Paul Iannetti

Biography
Paul’s practice is dedicated to family and criminal law. He handles all aspects of family law including prenuptual agreements, simple support matters, child custody matters, divorce and equitable distribution. He is particularly sensitive to the fact that family law matters involve more than mere legal work and that its outcome will profoundly affect both family and individuals for the rest of their lives.

His criminal practice is extensive and covers all matters from speeding tickets and summary offenses, DUI’s, domestic disputes, drug offenses, simple and aggravated assaults to homicides. Since starting in the Public Defender’s Office of Allegheny County, Paul has handled thousands of cases from initial appearance at the Preliminary Hearing to final resolution via plea, bench or jury trial, including appeals and Post-Conviction Relief Act Petitions. He believes that no two cases are alike, and those accused of an offense must not be treated in the “cookie-cutter” manner the Commonwealth so often attempts to use.

While in law school, Paul clerked for the Public Defender’s Office of Allegheny County and received both the Community Service Award and a CALI award for Land Use Planning.

Jared N. Leland is a partner in the corporate practice of Elliott & Davis
. With over a decade of experience, Mr. Leland concentrates his practice 
in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate
 governance, litigation, arts and entertainment, natural resources, and 
strategic business counsel. Mr. Leland regularly structures transactions
 involving the acquisition and divestiture of assets, manages corporate legal 
affairs, and counsels clients with respect to capital formation and

Paul Brytus

Biography
Paul Brytus recently graduated from Duquesne University School of Law, magna cum laude, earning the CALI award (highest grade in the class) in contracts. During law school, Paul studied in Ireland, with various classes on European Union Law.

Paul currently focuses his practice primarily on civil litigation matters, ranging from contract disputes to negligence actions and other torts.

As member of the litigation team for Elliott & Davis, Paul is intimately involved in all aspects of various fields of law, ranging from drafting motions and pleadings for civil, criminal, and family court; second chairing multi-day trials; formal arraignments for criminal defendants; and the filing and perfecting of mechanic’s liens, among other issues in lawsuits for clients that Elliott & Davis has represented.

Paul is a veteran and current member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Alex Parrish

Alex Parrish

Biography

Attorney Alex Parrish brings his experience in transactional and litigation matters to bear to solve problems for clients.  He helps businesses ranging from basic start-ups to operating companies to venture-backed technology-based enterprises with entity selection and formation, strategic development, contracts, financing, buy-sell agreements, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, employment issues, technology licensing, and intellectual property rights including patent, copyright and trademark strategy.  He has also represented companies and individuals in litigating disputes related to the above areas. In effect, he works as a general counsel, understanding the business and helping make and execute decisions.

His background extends beyond representing companies and individuals in the private practice of law.  He has been a general counsel of several companies, including a software-as-a-service ecommerce platform company.  Alex is also an experienced business executive who has served in many senior management positions, including CEO, VP of Sales, VP of Business Development, and as a co-founder or consultant for companies across many technologies, including software, e-commerce, advanced materials, IT services, electronic devices and life sciences.

Alex received his law degree from Georgetown, where he was on the Georgetown Law Journal and the Dean’s List and received the AmJur Award for Property.  His undergraduate degree is from Duke in political science.  At Duke, he received the President’s Leadership Award, was the Chairman of the President’s Honor Council and Speaker of the Legislature of the Duke student government and participated in Army ROTC, as well as making the Dean’s List.  When he was a senior, he was selected to be a full member of the Duke University Board of Trustees for a three-year term.

Alex was a White House intern one summer during law school working on education issues, and served as a field artillery officer in the United States Army, where he was an Honor Graduate of the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.

Alex is actively involved in his communities of Mt. Lebanon and Pittsburgh.  He is in his fifth year as President of the Mt. Lebanon Lions Club which supports missions locally, nationally and internationally.  In addition to participating in various boards and committees in the township of Mt. Lebanon, he is an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church where he has been a deacon and an elder and served on many commissions.  He helps lead the local alumni organizations for Duke and Georgetown.  On the side, Alex plays tennis, baseball and basketball, and is a certified tennis teaching professional, teaching part time.  He is also the current Senior Vice President of the local district of the United States Tennis Association.

Bill Labovitz

Biography

Bill Labovitz is a veteran civil litigator and business attorney who represents individuals and businesses in the Pittsbugh area. Bill practices in the areas of commercial litigation, business law, employment law, construction litigation, media law, and real estate/HOA law.

Bill has represented his clients in the prosecution and defense of a wide array of litigation matters, including breach of contract, collection cases, fraud claims and other business torts, construction disputes, and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court. He has represented individuals, companies of all sizes, and planned communities in state and federal court, before environmental administrative agencies, and in mediations and arbitrations before FINRA and the American Arbitration Association.

In addition to his role as a litigator, Bill counsels clients on business matters such as the formation of business entities, reviews of commercial contracts, and reviews of employment agreements, including non-competition agreements. Bill also has represented developers, condominium, and homeowner associations in connection with drafting and amending governing documents such as declarations and bylaws; enforcing covenants, rules, and regulations; and collecting unpaid fees and assessments.

Bill has published a number of articles, including: co-author of the Pennsylvania portion of Libel Defense Resource Center (LDRC) 50-State Survey, Media Privacy and Related Law, 1997-2000; co-author of “Attorney-Client Privilege in Individual Bankruptcy Cases…An Emerging Oxymoron?” Commercial Law Journal, Fall 1999; and “Innovation Over Regulation: Newspapers to Self-Police Racks in Pittsburgh,” Media Law Update, March 1999.

Bill lives with his wife and three children in Mt. Lebanon, where he is active in the community. Bill served as chairman of the Lebo Cup recreational soccer program for about 500 children in grades K-12. He is vice president of the Mt. Lebanon Soccer Association. He received the soccer association’s President’s Award in February 2014 in recognition of his leadership skills and work performed for the organization. He also is involved with the Mt. Lebanon Democratic Committee. In addition, Bill is a former board member and president of Tufts University Lawyers Association and is chairman of Tufts University Alumni Admissions Program’s Pittsburgh Committee.

Bill is an adjunct professor at Point Park University where he teaches a media law course. He previously taught at Robert Morris University and at the University of Pittsburgh.
Before becoming an attorney, Bill was a reporter for The Daily Item in Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

Biography

Jeffrey T. Morris is a lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area and has 35 years of experience as an attorney practicing in the areas of intellectual property, bankruptcy, zoning, construction, business and commercial litigation matters in state, federal and bankruptcy courts. He is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

In the course of his career, Jeff has handled complex business and commercial litigation matters including patent infringement litigation involving tooling equipment utilized in the highway construction industry. He has further represented specialty contractors in construction claims disputes including a large claim by the signage subcontractor to the PNC Park project in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He has also represented project owners, in particular an owner with a claim against the completion contractor in a large Western Pennsylvania senior living development project.

Jeff also has substantial experience on the transactional side in which he has assisted business owners in the negotiation and drafting of commercial finance documents, nondisclosure and noncompete agreements; intellectual property licensing agreements and employment agreements

Jeff has also been a frequent lecturer for the National Business Institute, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Federal Bar Association on commercial litigation and employment law issues. Jeff is a past president of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is a member of the Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Allegheny County (Construction Dispute Resolution Group) and American Bar Associations as well as the American Arbitration Association (Commercial Arbitration Panel).
